Hi Folks,
I've completed a major update to the board today, which should have solved the problems you might have experienced lately.
As always, if you happen upon something that doesn't seem right, let me know and I'll deal with it.
Enjoy the board,
Rob

Lieber Kalle,
Dear Kalle,
A warm welcome indeed to the Oracle forum community and thank you kindly for your initial exploratory post, we are always happy to see new members registering and new posts forthcoming.
I wonder if I could trouble you for some help on this subject as we appear to have an irregular problem with the member registration module of the software application which runs our forum.
Normally, following the successful completion of the first stage of the registration process [Submission of new User name, confirmed password and valid email address, then a correct answer to the CAPTCHA question] the new user would receive a confirmation/validation email to the email address submitted in the first part of the registration process. The new user member would reply to this email by clicking on a link and validate their membership.
I am assuming that this happened in your case. Can you remember this event and do you have a copy of the actual membership confirmation/validation email that you received please?
Thank you for you help in advance and Kind Regards Redbeck

Excellent workaround for validation email requests to administrator/moderator Rob. The volumes of emails for validation via this route can be quite significant it's a full time job for someone, however at least we can do spot checks of known spammer email accounts. What this proves though, I guess, is that the automatic validation email sent direct to newly registered member email addresses method works infrequently!! Thanks again this has resolved the recent direct complaints and I'll do the best I can to keep up although I am out a lot this week and weekend. There are currently 57k Inactive records on the member file, they obviously go back years
I have just read a copy of the email which you sent to DD about this very subject 5 minutes ago, he didn't mention it in an earlier phone call. I generally only use that email address for the Oracle and Internet matters. Anyway well done for the interim fix, lets see what you find when you get a chance to take a look at UK2. They possibly block the outgoing email messages because they get sent back as spam by the likes of Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail and corporate emails servers with a serious firewall.
